College of Marin Fine Arts Gallery supports the curriculum of the Art Department through exhibitions of emerging and established artists, who hold a strong vision, engage in a critical dialogue and are globally relevant. The study and experience of art provides exceptional learning opportunities for both students and our greater Marin community. While art museums generally have an educational component, few art galleries have taken as their central mission the active learning experiences of undergraduate students. The College of Marin Fine Arts Program and Gallery will offer access to and a focus on fine arts education and important learning experiences. The Gallery serves as a classroom, providing College of Marin students hands on experience and job training in the fields of exhibition installation and gallery management.
The Fine Arts Gallery hosts five to six exhibits each academic year, beginning with the Faculty exhibit in the fall and culminating with the annual juried student show in the spring. The Fine Arts Gallery does not accept unsolicited exhibition proposals. If you wish to support the College of Marin Fine Arts Program and Gallery your donation will help to ensure that our students and the greater community have an enduring, meaningful and creative means of teaching, learning, exploring, questioning and engaging with the world of fine arts.
